Rea of Hope
Welcome to Rea of Hope! This site was created to spread awareness for Holoprosencephaly, which our youngest daughter Reagan Grace was diagnosed with.
Help spread and support awareness for Holoprosencephaly (HPE)! It is a rare brain disorder which occurs 1 in every 5,000-10,000 births and causes defects in the face and function and structure of the brain. Only 3% diagnosed live to tell. There is no cure and the prognosis in unknown.
Hello to all,
It's been a tough year for us having to deal with the reality of having a child with special needs. Knowing however that there are so many people that are willing to support us brings us a tremendous amount of encouragement. This support was evident through the participation and donations that we received over the past weekend for Reagan’s event. The Martinez family would like to extend our biggest thanks for all of your support! Thank you for being part of this very special day. Not only did you help us celebrate Reagan's 1st birthday and be part of the very 1st Southern California 5K Run/Walk for HoPE, but you did a HUGE part in helping us spread awareness about HOLOPROSENCEPHALY. It is a rare condition that needs to be known so that research can be done. We are thankful and truly blessed that Reagan has reached this 1 year milestone. We can't thank you enough for being part of this day! We had close to 300 race participants and raised over $12,000 in which the proceeds will go to Families for HoPE, Inc. Thank you again! Please keep us in your prayers. Keep checking back as we will continue to update our website each week with a new story of HoPE. And stay tuned for future Rea of HoPE events!
God Bless
